BULK Space is built on the premise that by offering marginalized artists space and resources alongside our communities we could shift the landscape of equity in the arts. We serve our mission by providing artists with opportunities to present their work through exhibitions, residencies, art book fairs and public programming.
Book Fairs are one of many platforms that we use to amplify the voices of Detroit based artists by sharing their works with audiences nationally and internationally. Previous year’s collections have included works from past and current Bulk Space Artist Residents, Bulk Space’s Poster Series, and new publications to be premiered.

The Midwest Queer + Trans Zine Fest and Conference (MQTZF) exists to celebrate queer and trans independent publishing in the Midwest.
MQTZF is coordinated by the MQTZF Organizing Team whose purpose is to foster an environment that is welcome to all and free of anti-liberatory actions, behaviors, and language. Additionally, this is a mask required event for the accessibility of all vendors and attendees.

Founded in 2013, The Detroit Art Book Fair is an annual event that takes place at Trinosophes in Detroit's Eastern Market neighborhood.

In its first Detroit edition, this Black August gathering—organized by Sojourners for Justice Press and Midnight Care Collective, and hosted by BULK Space Media Lab—centers Black publishing as protest and survival, with zine exhibitors, DJ sets, local artists, a community zinestand, and a workshop on Risograph printing for Black creators.

hosted by Columbus Printed Art Center, the mission of The Columbus Art Book Fair to provide an expansive and equitable platform for local, regional, and national producers and distributors of artist books, zines, print editions, and more in Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to the vendor fair, the event included readings and experimental performances that explored the role of printed matter within interdisciplinary practices. Columbus Art Book Fair welcomed 47 exhibitors from 14 states, Italy, and The Netherlands. The selected vendors represented a broad scope of makers and publishers from across the country with a focus on Central Ohio’s vibrant community of artist book producers.
